The Problem

 

v5 is not a version bump. Point allocations moved. New prerequisites landed. Credits your team has documented the same way for years now ask for something different.

The teams that treat it as a delta, reading the summary and carrying forward the v4 workflow, are the ones who find out mid-project. That's when it gets expensive: a prerequisite discovered late, a credit strategy that no longer pencils, a certification cost quoted by someone else that nobody in the room can tell is right.

The cost of getting v5 wrong doesn't show up as a training line item. It shows up as a missed certification level, a compliance requirement you didn't plan for, or an incentive condition you no longer meet.

 

On a Real Project

 

A global manufacturer was quoted roughly half a million dollars to certify a project, construction premiums included. They wanted LEED. They were not going to spend that.

The project certified with a construction premium of $25,000, at 56 points, Silver secured and tracking Gold.

Nothing about that outcome was luck. It came from knowing which requirements drive real cost, which ones don't, and where teams routinely spend money on things that won't move the scorecard.

That is what this course teaches, applied to v5.

Eight hours of a full project team's time is a serious investment, and the loaded cost of that room is far larger than what this course costs.

So it has to return more than a rating system version update. Every category in this course is taught with cost and feasibility attached: what the requirement is, what it takes to deliver, where the money goes, and what you can stop paying for.

Format

  • 4 live virtual sessions, 2 hours each, taught by Fulya Kocak. Monday February 22 through Thursday February 25, 2027, 12:00-2:00 PM ET

  • Two hours a day, not a lost week. Designed so a project team can attend without clearing their calendars

  • Taught live, not pre-recorded. You are in the room with Fulya for all eight hours. Questions welcome throughout, and the material adapts to who's in the room and what they work on

  • All sessions recorded. Registrants receive 6-month access to the recordings

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Fulya Kocak, LEED Fellow

Fulya has taught LEED since the rating system's inception, 23 years, through every version of its evolution. In that time she has helped thousands of professionals worldwide earn their credentials, and she authored USGBC's LEED AP BD+C study guide.

She has also certified more than 100 projects. On those projects she priced the premiums and delivered certification within the budget and schedule the owner set. That is a different skill from knowing the rating system, and it is the one that decides whether a project hits its certification goal or falls short. She still runs LEED projects today.
